Bringing Down the Stress Levels for L.A.
Bringing Down the Stress Levels for L.A.

It has been recently revealed that people in Los Angeles are of the view that they are more stressed than ever. This has been revealed according to a recent survey done by psychologists. On a scale of 1 to 10, the stress levels of these people were rated at 5.2 by them. It might not seem to be too much, but the ideal American stress level was said to be 3.6, so that makes a difference.

The reasons for these rising stress levels might be economy concerns, and work related stress, besides other things. It is even more so because the economic condition of the country isn’t flourishing.

As many as 44% of the people ones surveyed are of the view that they used to be less stressed than what they are now, about 5 years ago.

"The data might suggest we've reached that point where it just [becomes] a fact of life." "The data actually surprised me, because it seems stress should be more prevalent in terms of the economy, people's concerns about unemployment, about making ends meet”, said Michael Ritz, who is a clinical psychologist from Irvine.

These are surprising levels considering the fact that people tend to think that America is one of the most developed and most content places in the entire world.

There is need for better measures to be drawn for the effective management of the stress levels at all age groups. The people need to be able to cope up with their lives, while managing to stay calm and distressed.

It is also essential that people are more open and willing towards gaining professional help for the treatment of their stress levels. There is need for people to understand that simply going for a counseling session with a psychologist doesn’t mean they are going mad.
