Police searching for Dognappers

Montreal Police have warned veterinarians and pet-store owners about dognappers who might be trying to sell a stolen Yorshire Terrier.

Last night, four white men, who appeared to be in their early twenties, broke into a house on in the St. Hubert borough. The men were holding sharp objects and beer bottles and they demanded money. When the two victims, both in their twenties, told them that they had none the perpetrators made off with some electronic equipment, the tiny canine and the cellular phones of the two.

The day after, the dog-nappers called the house and demanded a $5,000 ransom for the safe return of the dog. They told the owners to contact them on their cellular phone once they had readied the money.

Longueuil police have urged the public to call 911 if they spot the dog.
