Max Payne fans have some wonderful news coming their way - Max Payne 3, the third part of the popular first-person detective series developed by Rockstar Vancouver, has been scheduled for a "winter 2009" release on the PS 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
The announcement about the forthcoming release was made by Rockstar founder Sam Houser, who elaborated on the game saying that it tells the story of a tough, retired New York City detective entangled in a corrupt, chaotic and extremely violent world. The detective uses his weaponry and impulse in a frantic search for the truth and a way out.
The game puts players in the character of the hardened detective, who has a proclivity for violence, and is seeking to avenge the death of his family. The most recent episode moves the ongoing Max story of the last two games in a new direction, by the way of a thrilling increase in the popular characteristic elements and hyper-intense action that fans simply adore!
In a statement, Houser said: "We're starting a new chapter of Max's life with this game. This is Max as we've never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever. We experience the downward spiral of his life after the events of Max Payne 2 and witness his last chance for salvation."
