Chef Paula Deen to Contribute Portion of Earnings to ADA

Latest reports have revealed that the Southern culinary queen and the writer of numerous cooking guides, Paula Deen, has announced recently that she would be giving a percentage of her earnings to the nonprofit American Diabetes Association by endorsing Novo Nordisk diabetes products.

Deen has diabetes from the last three years, but it was only a few days back when she revealed her condition. This act led her receive criticism from health experts as even after having diabetes she kept on teaching high-sugar recipes.

Though health experts have talked a lot on this matter, it has not affected Deen, who says she would do whatever she feels like. Talking about contributions she is going to make in the American Diabetes Association, she said that she is in a position to help others so she is doing it.

She, along with her two sons, is working with the intent of raising funds for the association. Till now, Deen has not decided the amount which she would like to donate to the ADA. But the most surprising thing in the whole case is that the American Diabetes Association is not at all aware of the any such contribution from the side of Deen.

They have affirmed that till now no body from the side of Deen has contacted them. Moreover, Deen's spokesperson American Diabetes Association revealed that Deen's family would also be participating in the programme known as New Light. Through the programme, they would be asking people to adopt healthy lifestyle so they could remain protected from diabetes.

As per health activists, it is just the way to divert the attention of the media and people towards this issue so they could have a positive image of Deen. But, Deen has already affirmed that she is not affected by anything, and would not leave cooking for anybody as it is her passion.
