It has been recently revealed that Sony Ericson has suffered a huge loss of $318m in the 4th quarter earnings. They have revealed that this was as a result of cut-throat competition currently prevailing in the market together with a very unfavorable economic structure of the nation.

The company has been blaming lots of situations for the same. The firm is going to be merged with the giant Sony, in the time to come.

The Sony Ericson firm is blaming everybody around them for their reported loss. They had too much competition, too much economic turmoil, conditions were not favorable. What didn’t seem to cross the blame games was that their own line of products might not have been worthy.

"Our fourth quarter results reflected intense competition, unfavorable macroeconomic conditions and the effects of a natural disaster in Thailand this quarter”, revealed the Chief Executive Officer for the firm, Bert Nordberg.

Sony Ericson phones have a clientele of its own and the firm needs to find out the reasons for the recent failure and why it could not match up to the pressures being faced by other firms internationally. There is need for the firm to conduct a thorough analysis of events to find out where they lack. Rectification of errors is the next step.

When the firm gets merged with Sony, the international giant, things shall start becoming better for them. They have currently shipped 20% lesser than what they did the previous year, and this calls for a detailed analysis of what the problem is. It might have to put some more efforts in the research and development and brand promotion to reap better profits in the time to come.
