A miracle took place recently when a mother delivered her baby in a stuck hospital elevator. Earlier, Katie and Luke Thacker left for St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma after Katie suffered labor pain.
She was expecting delivery anytime and therefore it was thought smart to take her to maternity ward located on the 14th floor of the center. She was accompanied by the nurses and midwives in the elevator. Her husband decided to come by another elevator with other nurses.
But before Katie could reach the maternity ward, she got stuck on the 12th floor in the elevator. Luckily, midwives and nurses where there to help her deliver the baby. At 5:45 am, Katie gave birth to a boy who has now famous by the name Otis.
His actual name is Blake Michael Thacker. But as he was born in the elevator made by the Otis Elevator company, he has been nicknamed Otis. The couple, Katie and Luke Thacker, is very happy for having their second son.
The mother and the son are said to be doing fine. None of them ever thought that such a situation will be ever by them. It has been informed that Katie was having labor pain since 4:15 am.
As the elevator got stuck, the nurses called the management crew to solve the problem. Soon after the baby was born, the elevator crew opened the door. While expressing his experience at the hospital, Luke Thacker said, “To be honest with you, I was just praying. I was really scared, just because of the unknown. The minutes seemed like hours”. But when Blake was born, he weighed 7 pounds and 15 ounces, and was 21.5 inches in height. The family is happy to be reunited after the incident.
