When people are diagnosed of a heart disease, it sort of gets them in a fix. They feel they need to stop all their normal activities and sit composed so that they don’t hurt their heart further. In a new study, it has been found that having sex, at least is not one of these things, and people can have sex, even after a heart attack! Wouldn’t this put back a smile on all those sullen faces, who themselves, have suffered a heart attack, or have a partner who has?
The research was done by a team from the Duke’s University, for the American Heart Association. In the report, Dr. Magnus Ohman revealed how it is safe to have sex, even after having had a heart attack.
He is of the view that even those people who have been diagnosed of a heart ailment, or have suffered a heart attack can have sex.
“Many heart patients do not think twice about climbing stairs, yet many worry that sexual activity will cause another heart attack or even sudden death,” “The risk of having a heart attack during sexual activity is two to three times higher “, revealed Dr. Glenn Levine, one of the main authors of the study. People just need to be careful that they are following their GP guidelines well, and this would solve the issue for them.
They don’t need to worry about going celibate, because they have been diagnosed of a heart disease. It is necessary to ask the GPs about the same before indulging in the same after one has been diagnosed though. This is because individual cases might tend to differ and there is need for a detailed analysis to determine the same.
