Woman Delivers Sextuplets in Afghanistan

As per recent reports, a woman has given birth to sextuplets in Afghanistan. The woman has been identified as Sara Gul, and is only 22 years old. It was her first pregnancy and after giving birth to six babies, she is extremely exhausted.

The maternal mortality rate and the infant mortality rate are told to be highest in Afghanistan. It has been unveiled that about 6,500 mothers die per 100,000 births. However in the US, only 13 out of every 100,000 births succumb to death.

The six children born are said to be doing fine. However, they are underweight but the doctors are confident that they will do well. The health of the mother is also said to be fine. Although the children are said to be doing fine, the Reuters has claimed that one of the children would die before turning five.

Gul's husband, 27, is unemployed at present. While expressing his joy on having six children, he said that God has blessed him with six children but he is concerned about their future as they don't have any monitory source.

It has been informed that the delivery took place at the Mazar hospital located in the Mazar-e-Sharif city. Gul has been blessed with three boys and three girls. The babies are yet to be named. The doctors of the hospital have informed that the mother would be discharged from the hospital after one or two days.

The financial condition of the family isn't that good. Gul's husband informed that he borrowed money from someone to pay for the medical bills of his wife. And now, when they have got six children, it would be really hard to them to earn their livings. Their expenditure no doubt would increase manifold. People have urged the government to provide financial aid to the couple so that they could bring up their children adequately.
