It has been recently revealed that the CE of the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, Ms. Julia Squire, has resigned from her post. She has stepped down from her position at the NHS Confederation.
This has come as a result of the past activities in which the trust has been facing a lot of criticism, regarding the A&E closure at the Pontefract hospital. She has been replaced by Stephen Eames, and he shall take on his new position at the trust in a few weeks to come.
The recent proposal about brining on help from the army for the purpose of dealing with the shortage of doctors was criticized by the MPs and sop it was ruled out by the members of the trust.
It’s been since the 1st of November last year that the A&E department of the Pontefract Hospital has been closed. The trust on the other hand is now of the view that there is no way of bringing in military doctors to their department right now.
"I Look forward to working with all the staff and partner organizations in Mid Yorkshire to provide the best care and services for patients and leading the trust in the challenges that lie ahead”, said Mr. Eames in a statement.
As for Ms. Squire, it was said that she was a dedicated leader and worked towards the progress and betterment of the organization.
The trust is responsible for running the District and Dewsbury Hospitals. The management of the financial position of the same was becoming a majorly debatable issue in the recent past, and this is when Ms. Squire had to step down from her position. It remains to be seen, what the turn of events is like in the time to come.
