2 Britons Die Due to Legionnaires' disease While on Vacation In Spain

As per recent reports, it has been revealed that two Britons who were on vacation in Spain died after getting diagnosed with Legionnaires' disease. Both the holidaymakers stayed at the Diamante Beach Hotel in Calpe in Spain.

It is said that both of them caught infection from a hospital and they are not alone who contracted the disease from the hotel. There are another five people who have caught the disease and have been getting treated at hospital in the UK.

One of the Britons was found dead in the room and the second one lost his life in hospital. Addressing the issue, a spokesperson for the hotel said that when they got to know about the incident then they immediately took an action. They sent their scientific team to hotel and asked all their guests to vacate their rooms. In return, they were being offered rooms in different hotels.

Not only this, they stepped up to fulfill their moral duty and called all the guests who had stayed in their hotel. The spokesperson said that they told their former guests that should immediately contact their respective GPs and their checkups done.

He further affirmed, "Five people who had since returned to the UK had been to the doctors and were confirmed as having contracted legionella. Four were discharged and one is still in hospital in the UK and responding to treatment".

In Spain, five people are being treated in hospital and all have been responding well to the treatments. In fact, one person has got discharge from the hospital. Among the legionella disease case, there are two people who lost their lives. Reports have revealed that all people who came to enjoy their holidays in Spain were between 70s and 80s.
