HIV/AIDS is one of the most deadly diseases in the world. Even after the efforts of the medical experts and scientists, an effective cure of it has not yet been found. Therefore every year, a number of events take place in which not only awareness about the deadliest disease is raised but also funds to support the research over HIV vaccination are also raised.

Recently, about a half a dozen of student organizations took part in the ‘The Amazing Race’. The event was aimed at raising awareness. Throughout the event, the participants made all efforts to raise awareness about HIV infection.

With the advancements in technology and science, it has become possible for human to get HIV diagnosed. If HIV is diagnosed at right time then its spread could be limited through medical help. Therefore, people are being urged to get themselves tested.

It has been informed that innovative testing plans are being introduced in various cities like Chicago. The Vice-President of communications at the AIDS Foundation of Chicago said, “I think what all these initiatives are trying to do is normalize testing. We’re focusing on non-traditional venues, places like clubs, businesses, barber shops, fairs”.

People are being advised to get themselves tested for the HIV timely so that its spread could be reduced. It has been informed that drivers of D. C. Washington can get themselves tested for HIV through oral test. Within just 20 minutes, the results of the tests are declared.

It has been informed that the symptoms of HIV are hidden. They might appear on the initial days of infection. But they can soon disappear and may return after ten years. So, it is advisable that people should get themselves tested timely.
