CVS-stores

It has been recently revealed that 2 local CVS stores in Sanford are probably one of the first to see the suspension of their licenses, because they sold painkillers such as oxycodone. It was further revealed that these stores were selling too much painkillers. It was selling 14 times the generally prescribed amount of painkillers.

It was further specified that these pharmacists were selling as many as 69000 of these oxycodone painkillers each year. It was high time such a racket was busted. A staunch check needs to be kept on the pharmacy companies so that the misuse of prescribed drugs can be prevented. There are thousands of people in the world, who try these cheap and easy ways of getting ‘high’, and it is essential that regulatory bodies such as FDA and other authorities take a firm stand in the prevention of the same.

“The DEA targets drug dealers. The DEA is in the job of making sure that the medicine goes where it is supposed to go. That children and addicts aren't having easy access to these sort of things”, said DEA Special Agent Mark Trouville.

There is going to be hearing held for the matter, where these pharmacies will be given time to keep their point of view in front of the court. There is need for a national drive of the same sort, which helps in the prevention of the use of prescribed drugs for getting ‘high’.

Teens and children are the ones, who are falling prey to it the most. Addicts tend to lure youngsters into using these pills, because they are easily available as well. It is essential that parents also keep a strong check on their kids, to avoid such situations.
