Scottish Govt. Launches Anti-Alcohol Campaign

As per reports, it has been revealed that Scottish Government has launched a campaign known as the Alcohol Behaviour Change. The campaign is especially designed for women to make them understand that alcohol consumption is not a healthy habit for body.

The government has put up all the necessary details on their website and a smartphone application is also designed as a part of the campaign which can be downloaded for free. The application highlights some of the unknown ill effects of drinking such as excessive drinking leads to early ageing.

One of the other benefits of the application is that it encourages women to drink alcohol within the safe limits and also try alcohol-free day policy. In it, one decides to take a break from alcohol for a few days in a week or in a month.

Another option is to try some other drinks other than alcohol like having mock tail as it has soda so it would satiate that strong soda drink craving. Ore can also try soft drinks, water, and soda lemonade among others.

The Outer Hebrides Alcohol & Drug Partnership (ADP) which is also actively involved in the campaign announced a challenge known as a Wine Guess Challenge. The challenge is more like a track recorder which would monitor how many units a person used to have and by how many drinks he has cut down.

ADP Chair, Chief Inspector Gordon Macleod, said, “The Outer Hebrides ADP encourages everyone to think seriously about how much they drink. The positive impact that even a small reduction may have on their health and well being cannot be ignored. The smartphone app shows the stark reality”.

He further affirmed that some of the other activities that will be shortly introduced in the campaign are responsible drinking tips and unit calculator for every drink among others.
