It seems that there is no end to the NHS reform related controversy. Daily meetings of British politicians raise a new agenda in regard to the reforms. Recently, David Cameron admitted that they have stuck with the bill and have no option but to move on with the reforms.
Democratic Liberal Nick Clegg said that the NHS reform bill is for the benefit of all and general population would realize this thing soon. Supporting Cameron, Liberal Democrats said that they are in no mood to dump the bill.
Recent twist in the situation is that Labour party members have gone against the bill and think that the NHS is not in the safe hands. Labour leader Ed Miliband even blamed Cameron for breaking one of the promises in regard to the bill. According to him, Cameron promised that there would be no top to down reorganization, but totally opposite is taking place.
Former Labour health secretary Alan Milburn, said, “This bill has ended up as a – to be frank – a patchwork quilt of complexity and compromise and confusion. They will get the measure through in my view; they will probably win the day in parliament, but at a terrible cost”.
However, Cameron was not far away proving his point right. He rebuked all the claims and affirmed that the opposition is nothing but a group of opportunists. Earlier, they were with him, but now they are finding problem in everything. They are neither in the favor of reforms nor are they in the favor of money which would be spent for reorganization.
Miliband attacked back by saying that general population would soon get to know that this reorganization activity is not going to help the NHS, and would take to its doom.
