In a recent report, it has been revealed that in a recent run for spreading awareness was organized by the Age U. K. Charity society. It’s the Bobble day today and the runners supporting the event were seen wearing bobbles, in the Spread the Warmth Campaign.
This was an event organized for raising the awareness among people, about how the care for the elderly needs to be made different, in the colder months. The event was held to spread, practical services and advices to people about how they can safeguard the elderly from the winter months that might be particularly harsh and taxing for them.
It was revealed by Peter Bullock, the chief executive from the Age U. K in North Staffordshire that "We are encouraging local people to take part in our 10K 'Wrap Up and Run' in Tatton Park, on March 11, or pin a bobble on their knitwear, or organize a woolly clothes swap with colleagues to help raise vital funds for our work”.
There is need for better measures to be prepared for the harsh winter months, which might seem to take a toll on the health of the elderly and the vulnerable. The charity organized an event where people could buy bobbles and in turn give their donations, which will be forwarded to these people in need.
These people in the old age care homes, need to be given proper facilities to keep them enough warm in the harsh winter months. This will ensure that they stay protected from the cold related diseases as well. It is essential that these people are helped, because they are the most vulnerable and have a low immunity as well.
