In the journal, a leading policy expert has written that the efficiency of the NHS has decreased with the increased funding. The comments are just like a tight slap over the management of the NHS trust.
The NHS hospitals have sited reasons like financial crisis for poor performance. But even after increasing the funding of the hospitals, they have not been able to meet their targets. The writer of the article, Prof. Nick Black has further challenged the comments of the politicians.
The politicians claimed that the productivity of the NHS has fallen since 2000. But Prof. Nick Black is of the view that the productivity of the NHS has increased or has improved with the passage of time. While supporting his comments, he said that the comments of the politicians are based on the analysis of the Office for National Statistics.
He noted that the Office for National Statistics had not considered the community-based services while concluding the analysis. As the analysis was not up to the mark, it made the politicians to complain of poor productivity.
Prof. Black has emphasized over the improved productivity of the NHS. While supporting his assertion, he provided examples of reduced mortality rate, improved satisfaction of the patients and timely treatment of the emergency cases.
In the article, he wrote that the members of political party Labour still believe that the productivity of the NHS is on decline. Although the productivity has been minute over the years, it would be wrong to say that the productivity is falling.
He has accused Labour of being frustrated with their defeat in the elections which has made them to use the strategy of lying to the public about the figures of the NHS. As the elects are rearing near in the UK, the political parties are using the gimmicks to grab the attention of the public.
