India-EU Tug of War Continues
India-EU Tug of War Continues

In a recent report, it has been revealed that the pharmacy ties that have been developing in the recent times in different parts of the world might be under a slight shadow. There have been fresh pressures cast on the European Union, after they are being forced to not to go ahead with the enforcement norm they proposed in the Free Trade Agreement with India.

They have garnered a lot of criticism for the same from different critics, who are of the view that their doing so might be a major downturn for the developing pharmacy industry ties in the two countries.

These critics are mainly from the Non-government organizations, industry as well as patient groups. They are of the view that these new enforcement norms by the EU will tend to have crippling effects on the industry in the time to come. It will make the trade compulsive, strained and restrictive in nature, while ultimately severe ties between the countries, due to pressure being felt by both the sides.

"We have watched too many people die in places where we work because the medicines they need are too expensive. We cannot allow this trade deal to shut down the pharmacy of the developing world", said Unni Karunakara, the MSF's international president.

There is need for a balancing act to be put up here by both the nations. It is essential that such provisions are made in the new deal that works for both the sides. The main motive for these firms should be how to strategically plan policies that work well for the general people as well as the authorities at the same time.

It is essential that these policies are framed as soon as possible, because there is need for better medicine supplies in the countries, which is possible through combined efforts of these firms.
