Cooma People Encouraged To Donate Blood

As per recent reports, it has been revealed that Cooma, a place in New South Wales was once known for its blood donation service. However, things have not remained same from last four years and Cooma people have withdrawn themselves from the noble activity.

Considering all these points, Cooma Mayor Dean Lynch has asked all the Cooma residents to come forth and fulfill their moral obligation by donating blood. Dean said that he is making an effort to revive that spirit in them and this is the reason that he has challenged Cooma people to come and donate blood to the vital Red Cross blood service.

To set an example, he donated blood for the first time when blood donation service bus came to Cooma some three months back. Dean told that the feeling was great and it is always nice to make efforts to save other people live.

The mobile unit has been coming to Cooma since past four years, but number of people has been decreasing to donate blood. Dwindling number has made the mobile unit to wind off their blood donation work at the place within three days.

Dean said that it is not good example for the place which used to participate in every social activity. It seems that only the feeling has lost somewhere, and everything will come back to its track pretty soon.

Cooma Yetty Burgess, who is Manager of the mobile unit, told that they are always in need of blood supply. There is acute shortage of blood as one in 30 people donates blood. Basically, it should not be the case and one in three people should donate blood and blood products. "One in 30 people donate, but one in three require blood or blood products", said Burgess.
