Apple announces dates for its annual Worldwide Developers Conference

It's official! Apple on Thursday announced that it will host its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), at Moscone Center in San Francisco, California, from June 8 to June 12. According to Apple, the WDC 2009 will have more than 1000 Apple engineers available to talk about the latest enhancements and advancements in the iPhone and Mac OS X Snow Leopard.

The Apple's announcement has certainly heated up the talks and speculations over, "Will Apple release its next generation iPhone at WWDC?" The tech watchers are anticipating that Apple, which has recently unveiled the next generation iPhone software, iPhone 3.0, could bring out its new iPhone at the developers conference. According to tech analysts, the iPhone 3.0 software will not only bring the new features, like cut/copy/paste to the new iPhone, but will turn the device into complete gaming gadget.

Definitely, the recently unveiled iPhone 3.0 and the upcoming Mac OS X Snow Leopard are going to be the major attractions of the WWDC09. According to Apple, there will be sessions on the upcoming Mac OS X Snow Leopard that will exhibit "how to prepare for Snow Leopard's 64-bit architecture tapping into multi-core and GPU computing, and transitioning from traditional QuickTime APIs to QuickTime X". The WWDC will showcase new technological advancements in Snow Leopard, and discuss two technologies including - Grand Central that adds support for multicore processors and parallel computing, and OpenCL that allows applications to tap into unused GPU computing power.

Now when, the Apple's WWDC09 has been declared, there will certainly be a lot of talks and rumors about new iPhone. Of course, there will be a lot of guess work over "Will Steve Jobs attend the WWDC?" People have already started speculating, whether Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who has been on medical leave, will appear at the Worldwide Developers Conference.
