It all went well till Zach was an infant and then a toddler. It was when he turned about 4 years that he saw a cartoon on TV, someone who was wearing pink and the kid sought his true sexual identity, and revealed that he is now going to be a girl;. He even grew his hair long and wore pink and purple clothes like Dora, the explorer, his favorite cartoon.
Even his name was shifted from Zach to Zachy, and he was diagnosed with a Gender Identity Disorder. The parents, Darren and Theresa Avery, got worried and rather than letting it pass like a phase, they took it to the doctor for help. It was the controversial spectacle that glared onto the child in the form of the NJHS Trust in London that takes care of the Gender Identity Disorder section.
The matter went on to become even more pronounced and the child was given a gender neutral toilet and was given whatever clothes he wants to wear. The deal is that there are many children who go through the phase of dressing up in the costumes from the opposite sex, when they are little. This might even be a form of Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder ADHD.
But the doctors didn’t take any time to put him under the category of a Gender Identity Disorder. There is so much hue and cry and discrimination with people who aren’t sure about their sexual identities. There is need for the government to put across such policies that can be of actual aid to these people in need. There is need for parameters to be set common for one and all, so that these people never feel discriminated.
