The first hot possibility is that you could see the release of Apple's next generation iPhone. Apple unveiled new iPhone 3.0 software earlier this month. Thus it is certain that the company is cooking a new iPhone. The release of new iPhone in June will fall in with earlier iPhone releases by Apple. The first-generation iPhone was released in June 2007, and the iPhone 3G was released in July 2008.
Secondly, you could see Apple releasing Mac OS X Snow Leopard for public. OS X Snow Leopard is definitely going to be one of the major attractions at WWDC. The testers have already had test versions of Snow Leopard, so there is big possibility that Apple could release the OS X Snow Leopard for public at WWDC. The rumors are also hot that Apple could roll out the next operating system at WWDC.
Thirdly, you could see Apple launching a 10-inch touch screen new netbook at WWDC. The rumors are around that Apple is developing a $500 touch screen netbook, with the help of two Taiwan based companies, Wintek Corp. and Quanta Computer Inc. According to reports, Quanta Computer will develop the netbook computer for Apple, and Wintek, a contract maker of small and medium touchscreen displays, will provide the touch panels for netbook. However, Apple has not yet officially stated anything about the rumored touchscreen netbook.
Fourthly, you could see Apple CEO Steve Jobs making his appearance at WWDC. It is being hotly guessed that Jobs, who is presently on medical leave, could return at WWDC. According to some rumors, Jobs could appear at the event, but to bid adieu to the company. Some industry watchers are viewing the event as Steve Jobs' retirement party, where he will formally pass his scepter to his successor.
And, lastly, you could see Apple teaming up with Blockbuster for on-demand video. Blockbuster has recently got into partnership with TiVo that will make on-demand video content - movies and TV shows - available on TiVo DVR boxes and in return Blockbuster will sell TiVo DVR boxes at its stores. The rumors are on that Apple, which already offers downloadable movies and music via iTunes, could sign partnership deal with Blockbuster. The deal could make on-demand Blockbuster content available for the iPhone and some iPod models via iTunes. However, Apple has not yet officially stated anything about the rumored Apple - Blockbuster partnership deal.
