Cannavaro's agent confirms possible return to Juventus
Fabio Cannavaro

Rome - The agent of Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro has confirmed that the Italian veteran is considering a return to Juventus after three seasons in the Spanish Liga.

Gaetano Fedele Monday told the website calciomercato. it that negotiations have begun and have progressed well, thus validating rumours circulated earlier this week.

"Juve made an interesting proposal, which is exactly what he was looking for," Fedele said.

The agent added that 35-year-old international, whose contract with Real expires in June, has been contacted also by English and Russian clubs, and by German giants Bayern Munich.

The negotiation could include, after the 2009-2010 season, the permanence of Cannavaro at Juve with a managerial role within the Turin club, where he played from 2004 to 2006.

Cannavaro captained Italy to their fourth World Cup triumph in 2006, when he received the FIFA World Player and the Ballon d'Or awards. (dpa)
