Woman: Ex-boyfriend stole wig

Police in Port St. Lucie, Fla., say a woman who accused her ex-boyfriend of snatching a wig from her head was unable to recall her former beau's last name.

A police report released Monday said the 20-year-old victim was walking home from a party at about 3 a. m. Friday when her ex-boyfriend rode up to her on a bicycle and pulled off the black wig that was sewn to her hair, TCPalm. com reported Tuesday.

The victim claims her attacker slapped her after she began chasing him and fled after she said she was calling authorities.

Investigators said the woman told them she and the attacker had lived together for eight months but she was only able to recall his first name and the first letter of his last name.

The alleged perpetrator called the victim's cell phone while she was speaking to an officer and the police report said the man admitted to police over the phone that he had taken the woman's wig and fled after she threatened to call police.

The report said the ex-boyfriend hung up the phone after he officer asked for his last name. Police said Monday they are still working to identify the alleged attacker.
