Bringing to the fore its standing focus on up-and-coming cell phone markets, Nokia on May 18 unveiled three new Internet-ready mobile phones in Finland - the 2730 Classic, the 2720 Fold and the Nokia 7020! All the three models, featuring messaging and e-mail and battery longevity, are priced below $135.
Talking about the newly-launched devices, Nokia VP, Alex Lambeek, said: "With our longstanding commitment to emerging markets, a Nokia customer can be confident that any product we offer meets a strict and consistent set of high-quality standards. This is particularly important in markets where technical assistance and repair shops are not easily accessible."
The $75-priced 2720 Fold is a slim, mirrored clamshell phone with a hidden external display and GSM dual-band. Its features include a 1.3-megapixel camera; Bluetooth; a personal organizer; music player; FM radio; and wireless Web browser.
The slim, curved and glossy quad-band 2730 - boasting features like 2-inch QVGA display, 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth connectivity and stereo FM radio - is the least expensive 3G phone thus far, to be available for $108.
The Nokia 7020 quad-band flip-phone, priced at $124, features 2-megapixel camera; GPS with Nokia Maps; Bluetooth; music player; voice commands; personal organizer; and wireless Web browser.
While 2720 and 2730 models will begin shipping in 2009 third quarter, the 7020 models will be available in the fourth quarter.
