A recent survey of 2,000 people revealed that 36 per cent agreed upon lying about their age.
How much people drink and how often they have sex are other popular subjects are two of the most popular subjects in which people like to tamper the truth, mostly to impress the opposite sex.
Nearly 35% of the people agreed that they lied about their drinking habits. The younger ones admitted to exaggerating the truth to impress others while the older ones were more inclined to playing down the truth.
34% of the people admitted that they would lie about their sexual history. 3 in 10 men were found to be exaggerating about the number of people they have slept with, while the women were found to be more likely to reduce the figure.
People were also found to be prone to lying in their CVs. Most often they would write down an exaggerated pay. And the most oft used office lie was found out to be ill health, an excuse most often used to get a day off.
