New York - New problems for R&B singer Chris Brown: a photographer has filed a lawsuit against the on-again, off-again boyfriend of fellow performer Rihanna for alleged injuries.

Photographer Robert Rosen charged that a bodyguard for Brown had beaten him. The paparazzi is demanding damages for medical bills and emotional stress, People magazine reported Thursday.

Brown, 20, is facing criminal charges in the February beating of singer Rihanna, in a high-profile celebrity case. Rihanna plans to take the stand against Brown at a hearing in June, her attorney Donald Etra told E! News Thursday.

In the paparazzi case, Rosen says he took a photograph of Brown in a fitness studio in Los Angeles. A bodyguard came after him, pushing him down a flight of stairs and striking him.

Rosen is further alleges that the fitness studio failed to adequately protect him. (dpa)
