Ever since the 2007 debut of its public beta product, Mochi Media, a financially-sound San Francisco startup, has effectively grown its network to an enviable size! Operating a decentralized network of Flash-based online games and gaming websites, the startup offers developers an effective means of distributing, monetizing and obtaining statistical information pertaining to their games.
In the coming week, the company will probably announce that in its very first month of inclusion in comScore’s measurement system, it has taken a substantial lead, in terms of traffic, over one-stop shop gaming destinations.
Mochi Media has already claimed that that its so-called ‘extended network’ is achieving a month-on-month growth of between 5 percent and 10 percent. In addition, the company is expectedly attracting more than 100 million monthly online gamers for the present.
Going by the comScore data related to global traffic to gaming sites, Mochi Media network reportedly received more than 91 million unique visitors last April. Surprisingly, popular brands – like Yahoo! Games, MSN Games, EA Online and Nickelodeon - all achieve even less than half of Mochi Media’s global reach!
Mochi Media’s over 14,000 games played across 30,000 websites speaks volumes about the size of the network! The company has said that the sales of pre-roll video advertising units are going especially well, with CPM rates “in the low to mid-teens” for the US and the UK!
