That Dell is bringing forward Alienware as its gaming division is somewhat evident with Alienware's new M17x gaming notebook, with megaspecs!
The latest gaming-centered Alienware notebook has been intriguing gamers for quite some time, with a number of images and teasers of the supposed notebook appearing online, and drawing a parallel with an ad campaign dubbed "All Powerful".
Going by the company description of the new M17x notebook, it is "the most powerful 17-inch gaming notebook in the universe" - not without reason though! The notebook is more than a handful, boasting noteworthy specs like an Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad overclockable processor; a Dual 1 Gbyte Nvidia GeForce GTX 280M graphics card; 4 USB ports; a Blu-ray optical drive; and and 8-in-1 built-in media-card reader.
In addition, the M17x notebook, weighing nearly 12 pounds, also comes with a 9-cell battery; optional dual drives with up to 1 terabyte storage, and an optional high-def Widescreen UXGA display. The base model of the notebook will be available at an MSRP of $1,799.
One of the leading notebook analysts, Cisco Cheng, expressed opinion about the `gaming beast' thus: "The Alienware M17x will be one of the first gaming laptops that will support the Nvicia GeForce 280M GTX card in SLI formation, and it will have support for ATI's CrossFire technology at a later date."
