During the filming of an action sequence of the forthcoming thriller "Salt" in Long Island, New York, the well-known actress Angelina Jolie suffered a "minor" head injury on Friday, and was taken to a local hospital.
Reporting the 'freak' accident on the set of the film, Steve Elzer - spokesman for Columbia Pictures - said Jolie suffered a "a minor bump to the head" and was taken to a local hospital as a "precautionary measure."
Elzer added that the production of the film resumed later that day after the 33 year-old actress reported back on the set.
According to People.com, an unidentified representative for Jolie confirmed the news about the actress' injury, as well as her return for the ongoing shooting of the film. Talking about Jolie's post-injury medical condition, the representative said: "She is fine."
"Salt" - the flick to be released in cinemas next summer - has Jolie playing the role of a CIA officer who goes absconding after being proclaimed a Russian sleeper spy.
The role was reportedly earmarked for actor Tom Cruise, but Jolie's involvement in the film brought about a change in the script and the title.
Directed by Phillip Noyce, the other star cast of the film includes actors Live Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
