Los Angels - Actress and activist Angelina Jolie landed at the top of Forbes magazine's most influential celebrities in the world, pushing TV talkshow host Oprah Winfrey down off the roost, the publication said Wednesday.
Jolie took in 27 million dollars in the past year with movies including Kung Fu Panda, Wanted and the yet-to-be-released spy thriller Salt. But her role as a philanthropist and good will spokeswoman for the United Nations garnered her influence beyond her earnings.
Jolie's partner - and father of three of her six children - Brad Pitt ranks number 9 on the list. The other three children were adopted.
Winfrey, although earning 275 million dollars in the last year, dropped to number 2 on the list.
Others in the top ten, in descending order of influence, were Madonna, Beyonce Knowles, Tiger Woods, Bruce Springsteen, Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston (Brad Pitt's ex), Pitt and basketball star Kobe Bryant. (dpa)
