Los Angeles  - Terminally ill cancer victim Farrah Fawcett tried to marry longtime partner Ryan O'Neal while she was receiving treatment in Germany but ran out of time, her friend Joan Dangerfield said Thursday.

Dangerfield revealed the news to YB show Extra! and also said that the 62-year-old actress was feeling so much better that she had even sent out for a steak from her favourite restaurant.

"They thought about getting married in Germany," Dangerfield said. "They had me check into all the laws to see if that was possible. But we just didn't get it together in time."

"I did take a nun to see her and a bishop ... and they prayed and the nun gave her a little rosary," Dangerfield said. "Shortly after, she felt so good she sent me on an errand to Mastro's to buy a steak and we came back and sat around the bed and had a little dinner." (dpa)
