Whitney Houston to release comeback album

Los Angeles - Pop diva Whitney Houston will release a new album in September, her record label announced Thursday. The album with be the first in seven years for the talented but troubled star, who has sold more than 170 million records since 1985.

Houston, 45, has been battling drug and alcohol addiction in recent years and also divorced husband Bobby Brown in 2006. She started her comeback in February, when she performed at a pre-Grammy party hosted by record producer Clive Davis, and was also a presenter at the Grammy Awards. (dpa)
