Samsung unveils Omnia Pro, Samsung Pixon 12 M8910 and other devices

The CommunicAsia 2009 conference in Korea this week was more or less a Samsung show! The company unveiled the Omnia Pro - its follow-up to its extremely popular Samsung Omnia; the new Samsung Pixon 12 M8910 - its 12-megapixel camera phone wonder; and an array of other new smartphones and devices. 

Also called the Samsung B7610 Louvre, the new Omnia Pro smartphone is essentially the next-generation Omnia, which takes cues from its predecessor, and additionally boasts of a sliding QWERTY keyboard and a 3.5-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display with 800-by-480 resolution.

Equipped with a 5.1-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, the Omnia Pro has 800 MHz processor, 3.5 mm headset jack, 1 GB of internal memory, an expandable microSDHC slot for a 32 GB card and 7.2 Mbps on HSDPA. The new Omnia will run on the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 mobile operating system, and will offer GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

Meanwhile, the Pixon 12 M8910 is an upgrade to the Samsung’s earlier-announced Pixon camera. The invigorated device has a 12-megapixel camera, a 3.1-inch touch screen, 720-by-480-pixel video capability, GPS, Wi-Fi, LED flash, and 28mm wide-angle lens.

Another device that Samsung unveiled at CommunicAsia was its I7500 android smartphone - the Galaxy - featuring a 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen; 7.2 Mbps HSDPA; Wi-Fi; 5-megapixel camera; 8 GB internal memory, expandable to 32 GB; Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and GPS.
