Lenevo's flagship lineup of ThinkPad laptops will have a new notebook unveiled on Tuesday - the Lenovo T400s, which is essentially aimed at the design-conscious consumers. With a $1,599 price for its base model, the Lenovo T400s will be available for purchase this week.

The new ThinkPad T400s - which has incorporated some of the most popular features of Lenevo's slim and pricey X300 laptop - is a practically-slender, fully-functional 14- inch mainstream business laptop, which is 0.83 inches in thickness and weighs nearly 4 pounds.

The performance-specific laptop features an Intel 2.53GHz Core2Duo processor; 128 GB of solid-state storage or 250 GB of HDD storage; with either a 34 mm Express Card slot or 5-in-1 multimedia card reader. The notebook's six-cell battery has the capacity to power the device for up to six hours.

Fitted with a slim DVD burner or Blu-ray player, the new Lenovo device connects to the Web through Ethernet, Wi-Fi and optional WiMAX, WWAN and Bluetooth options.

Keeping track of the needs of employees, Lenevo has equipped the T400s with a 14-inch LED screen, along with notable improvements in the keyboard and touchpad, which is 30 percent bigger than the preceding ThinkPad models. The touchpad has been given a textured feel for easier location, and it supports multitouch capabilities - which are compatible with the Microsoft's forthcoming Windows 7 OS.
