Washington  - The Organization of American States (OAS) and the US administration vowed to reject a delegation from the Honduran government installed after the ouster of President Manuel Zelaya.

Albert Ramdin, OAS assistant secretary general, told the German Press Agency dpa late Tuesday in Washington that the hemispheric body would not receive a delegation, reportedly headed Wednesday to the US capital, from the government installed in Tegucigalpa after Zelaya was arrested Sunday and deported to Costa Rica by the Honduran military.

"OAS member states have said very clearly that they don't recognize anybody else than President Zelaya as the constitutional president of Honduras," Ramdin said.

Roberto Micheletti, formerly Honduran Congress speaker, was named to lead the post-coup government and threatened Tuesday to have Zelaya arrested if he follows through on plans to return to the country Thursday.

A senior US administration official told dpa that that Washington "does not receive representatives from a de facto government."
