Going by a Verizon Wireless Tuesday announcement, Research In Motion's (RIM) newest smartphone - BlackBerry Tour 9630 - is scheduled to hit the stores on July 12!
As per the Verizon announcement, the new RIM BlackBerry - to cost $199.99 with a two-year contract and after a $70 'online rebate' - is already available for pre-order online from the Verizon Web site. The phone would offer international roaming capabilities, providing voice coverage in 220 countries, and e-mail and Internet coverage in 175 countries.
Within the country, the much-awaited Tour would run on the Verizon EV-DO Rev. A network; and supports a wide range of the Verizon services, including VZ Navigator and V Cast Music. A Sprint version of the smartphone, with or without a digital camera, would likely be launched in the near future.
Some of the specs of the Tour include a full HTML Web browser; a 3.2 megapixel camera; built-in GPS; and Bluetooth.
The 'no-digital-camera' version of the Tour is being particularly awaited by numerous organizations - including government agencies and medical institutions - that prohibit cameras in certain premises and locations.
Till now, such organizations with 'no-camera' rule largely used "old" or outdated devices; but with the forthcoming BlackBerry Tour 9630, these organizations would be able to make use of the latest BlackBerry technology!
