Sophos, computer security firm has warned that Michael Jackson's death is being exploited by cyber criminals by spreading computer viruses through infected emails to fans.
Just as Michael Jackson's death was hitting the news, cyber criminals, with an intention of taking advantage of sudden high demand for information, created spam e-mails and malicious Web sites to taint victims' computers.
Sophos informed that the email that comes with title "Remembering Michael Jackson", ask receivers to open an attached file named "Michael songs and pictures.zip".
Sophos warned, "By opening the attachment, computer users are exposed to infection. Once infected, a computer will begin automatically spreading the worm onto other Internet users."
And as the time passed, these spam e-mails and malicious Web sites became more complicated and dangerous.
One message on internet that promises a YouTube video, showing the last work of Michael Jackson, Instead, install a malicious program that steals victims’ passwords.
Countless users are swindled via e-mail, which opens the door for swindlers to send spam.
So internet users shun unsolicited links from senders they don't know.
