Michael Jackson ruled the world of pop when he was alive and ruled the facebook when he dead.

A massive number of fans were reported to view Tuesday's memorial service for the departed music icon when a lot of channels streamed the event live. But many were using services such as Facebook, Twitter, FriendFeed and other social networking sites to share their thoughts on the departed soul's memorial ceremony.

Facebook users were posting 6,000 status updates per minute.

According to Facebook, 500,000 status updates were posted in just half into the ceremony. More than 300,000 users were logged in at that time.

Facebook spokesperson Brandee Barker informed that Facebook users were able to connect with other Jackson fans all over the world and watch the live Webcast without exiting CNN. com's Facebook Live video player.

As many as 800,000 status updates were posted by one million users on Facebook related pages to the live online broadcasts by CNN.

Michael Jackson is said to have more fans when compared with President Obama.
