Yahoo improves and expands Search Pad Tool

Yahoo Search Pad, which was announced in February for limited testing, will now be expanded to the U. S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, U. K., France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina.

Yahoo's Search Pad assists users by enabling them to do research on Yahoo Search and save links and other content in a note pad within the search application.

With Yahoo's Search Pad users do not have to manage multiple methods of annotation as users do not require to copy and paste URLs or other content into separate notepad applications like Microsoft Wordpad or Google Notebook.

Search Pad will automatically save links and other content from user searches in one integrated notepad.

Yahoo has polished the service and made wider by adding ways to share its content, which were earlier restricted to e-mail.

You can now share Search Pad content through Yahoo's Delicious social bookmarking service, Facebook and Twitter.

Speaking on the issue, senior director of user experience at Yahoo, Tom Chi, said, "We've been paying attention to this customer need for some time and on how to address it. Other search engines aren't addressing it."

On the other hand, Google also has an online notebook, but it has stopped improving the product.

According to Yahoo, Search Pad adds real value to search.
