Wednesday saw the official launch of MyTouch 3G - the second Google Android phone from T-Mobile! The new device, similar to its predecessor T-Mobile's G1 smartphone, also features the Google Android mobile operating system.
According to the company executives, a high-feel retail experience and custom cases would give MyTouch 3G - which was earlier dubbed as HTC Magic in February, and Google Ion in May - a one of its kind 'individualistic' twirl.
Talking about the phone's supposed halo of 'personalizable experiences' at a press conference in New York, Denny Marie Post, Chief Marketing Officer of T-Mobile said: "You can take the entire range of the rainbow and you can create for yourself the most powerful device that is 100% you, inside and out."
Other than the much-hyped fact that the new phone allows users to download multiple applications from Android Market and tailor menus and other elements to suit their individual style, the MyTouch 3G is quite similar to a T-Mobile G1; though a wee bit slimmer and sans a physical keyboard.
The prices and compositions of the new phone's "App Packs" will be announced by July end, with the phone's public availability likely by August 5. The new device, with a built-in Microsoft Exchange support, will be available for current T-Mobile customers at a pre-order price of $199.99 with a two-year contract extension.
