Seattle-based Internet retailer Amazon. com has announced the launch of a new website named AmazonWireless, offering cell phones and service plans from Verizon Wireless and AT&T, with Sprint and T-Mobile USA.

At present, more than 120 phones, including smartphones such as BlackBerry Bold, Storm, and the LG Dare, are being offered by AmazonWireless.

At AmazonWireless, the site, which is currently in the beta stage, customers can buy new handsets and service plans according to your needs.

AmazonWireless presents a range of voice, text, and mobile data plans and guides buyers through each step of the purchase.

Speaking his mind, Paul Ryder, VP of consumer electronics for Amazon, said, "The step-by-step purchase process on AmazonWireless makes it easy for customers who already have a plan to upgrade their phones."

Moreover, the company is presenting free two-day shipping on all phones plus it is ignoring activation fee for some of the handsets. But Apple's popular iPhone is absent from Amazon's list.
