Los Angeles  - Ryan Seacrest the host of Americann idol, has signed a new contract that will keep him at the helm for another three years, for a reported 45 million dollars. The 34-year-old currently earns just 5 million a year on the show.

"I'm truly appreciative of being part of a show that has had such an enormous impact on popular culture across all ages," said Seacrest in announcing the new deal. (dpa)
