Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag's secret elopement in Mexico led to their subsequent wedding - a wedding that included "margaritas, sunsets and beautiful settings," but no friends and family. And obviously, Heidi's mom, Darlene Egelhoff, was not happy about it at all!
In the latest issue of Us Weekly, Egelhoff said that the marriage would not last more than six months. She told the magazine that Pratt is manipulative and seems to have power over Heidi. She also said: "I would like to see a blood test from Mexico. It wouldn't surprise me if he had her drugged."
Egelhoff told Us that Spencer has tried to cut everyone out of Heidi's life. Egelhoff added that her daughter missed Thanksgiving to honeymoon with Spencer in Mexico.
Meanwhile, Pratt's reaction to comments from Heidi's mom came on Ryan Seacrest's morning radio show on Thursday. The 'Hills' star said: "I am sure she is just hurt and reacting crazy because she wasn't there." About her remark that the marriage won't work, Pratt said: "I can't wait to prove her wrong and be married for the rest of our lives."
Pratt called the filming of an episode of The Hills, with his new mother-in-law on Wednesday, as the "most insane day" of his life.
About his Cabo nuptials, Pratt said that it happened at the spur of the moment. He said that if he had had it all planned in advance, he would have stepped up his ring game, referring to the $8 rings the couple picked up for the ceremony.
