SMS flaws can leave your phone hacked: security experts

Security experts Charlie Miller and Collin Mulliner have found a fault in the way the phones handles text messages, paying the way for hackers to hack any iPhone via a text message containing one square character.

Charlie Miller and Collin Mulliner were sharing their views at the Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas.

According to the information the hack would come in the form of a burst of SMS messages that holds a single character.

These SMS would allow the hacker to control dialing the phone, camera, messaging and visiting websites.

Charlie Miller and Collin Mulliner claimed that they had notified the Apple regarding the potential bug but the company still has not released any patch to counter the potential hack.

Charlie Miller claimed, "Someone could pretty quickly take over every iPhone in the world with this."

Google's Android is also believed to be as vulnerable as Apple's iPhone.

However, Google said it released a counter patch.
