A legal battle between Skype and Joltid could put Skype's future in danger if a license deal between the two is not cordially resolved.

In a filing with the SEC, eBay, Skype's owner said, "Skype's business as currently conducted would likely not be possible."

Joltid, a technology company blamed Skype of breaching the license agreement, Skype had no rights to own, employ and amend certain software source code.

In case the Skype lose the legal battle and if optional software is not developed in time, the company would get severely hurt.

Skype fears that the development of alternative software could end up as a failure or it could cost a huge amount.

The trial in this case is currently scheduled for June 2010.
