Speculations about the supposed Apple tablet PC have started making rounds yet again, after the Monday reports from the financial newspaper Barron mentioning that a “veteran analyst” has chanced upon a prototype of the much-anticipated device!
The unnamed analyst, while referring to the ‘touch-sensitive slate-style’ Apple tablet, has said that the device would likely be introduced in September and hit the markets in November.
The most recent Apple tablet-specific report follows last week’s report in Financial Times, which said that the device features a 10-inch screen for better video viewing and e-book reading; and that it essentially boasts of capabilities akin to the iPod Touch.
In addition, the report had also made a mention of Apple being in talks with four of the largest record labels - EMI, Sony Music, Warner Music, and Universal Music Group - for the sale of their albums through the iTunes store.
Meanwhile, the Barron report quoting the “veteran analyst” as saying that the Apple tablet “is close enough now to a final design that in Asia, there's no other product in the waiting room or in the bullpen,” has already made potential competitors wary about the device.
No wonder the “veteran analyst” added: “There are dozens of ODMs - original device makers - making products for Lenovo and other PC makers that are all waiting to see what the Apple product is!”
