As per the online movie rental company Netflix Inc.'s agreement with The Walt Disney Co., the bygone seasons of ABC TV's shows like "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives" will soon be available for viewing via Netflix's "Watch Instantly" service.
According to the deal, Netflix subscribers, who spend a minimum of $9 monthly amount for renting DVDs online, will have instant access to the first five seasons of "Lost;" the fourth and fifth seasons of "Desperate Housewives;" and fifth season of "Grey's Anatomy." In addition, subscribers can also instantly watch the first two seasons of the fantasy series "Legend of the Seeker."
While most of the mentioned episodes of ABC's popular shows have already been made available by Netflix from August 1 onwards, the remaining episodes will be made available in the months to follow, beginning from September.
Though the programs mentioned can be viewed online on ABC's Web site, the ABC-Netflix deal now allows their viewing on TV screens via Netflix-compatible home video devices - like Blu-ray players and home theater systems; Internet-enabled TVs; Microsoft's Xbox 360; and the $99 Roku Digital Media Player.
The ABC-Netflix deal - which essentially is an extension of the online relationship entered by Netflix and Disney-ABC Television Group in September 2008 - would help Netflix expand its library of over 12,000 movies and TV shows available for streaming!
