Nvidia Corp, Graphics chip-maker reported a loss of $105.3 million or 19 cents a share for the latest quarter, down from $120.9 million or 22 cents a share loss for the same period in the previous year.
It is important to note here that the company had to resort to an extra $119.1 million charge to pay for a technical fault, which affected laptop computers from many vendors like Hewlett-Packard Co, Apple Inc, Sony Corp et cetera.
Jen-Hsun Huang, Nvidia's CEO said that the company had to allocate mended circuit boards to the affected suppliers.
Nvidia Corp's revenue dropped 13% to settle at $776.5 million. But revenue was up about 17% from Q1.
The company expects revenue to soar by 5% to 7% in the third quarter ending October 25.
In the recent trading, Nvidia shares soared 8.5% to close at $14.23. While the stock dropped 2.1% to close at $13.12.
