Members of the Communication Workers of America are all stet to strike in case their representatives and AT&T do not hit a contract by midnight.
They were dressed in red shirts with slogan, "we'll fight till hell freezes over - Then, we'll fight on ice!"
According to Marty Richter, AT&T spokesman negotiations would affect as many as 32,000 workers, including 3,000 workers from AT&T.
Members of CWA are struggling for their salaries, healthcare, retiree benefits and jobs lost due to outsourcing.
Marty Richter said, "We don't expect a strike. But we're a customer-oriented business, and we take very seriously the need to be prepared."
President of the local Communication Workers of America, Don Abicht warned that if their representatives could not reach an agreement by midnight they would resort to strike at 7 a. m. Monday, which would affect AT&T Broadband, landline, DSL services.
