Palm reacts to Pre privacy breach claims

Palm has reacted to the public hullabaloo that its Pre handset was spying on its customers.

It may be noted here that Palm Pre hit the headlines this week when one of its user discovered that his Palm Pre was gathering information regarding his location, the applications he used and the like and sending that information back to Palm.

Palm has said that it has provided the customers with the ability to disable the collecting services.

Palm clarified its stance by saying, "Palm takes privacy very seriously, and offers users ways to turn data collecting services on and off."

According to Palm all through its privacy policy there are statements that clearly explain that the company would gather information under certain circumstances.

Palm further argue that it collects information to improve its product as well as services.
